Santi race tomorrow the ING Atlanta Half Marathon
Last Wednesday our racer landed in Atlanta after a long trip from Alicante (Spain) and he dennounce´s the incidence he suffered in London Heathrow airport, where he had his connection to Atlanta.
When I check in all my luggage in Alicante I told the guys from IBERIA that I needed my everyday chair in every connections, so when I got out of the plane in Madrid I received my chair in the finger but in London Heathow airport I never got it and I was forced to be seated in a regular chair without propulsion wheels so I tried to find any staff member from IBERIA who never appeared while in BRITISH AIRWAYS desk instead of trying to find a solution and bring me back my chair they just argued that IBERIA´s staff did wrong in the check in, so in those three eternal hours I spent at Heathrow´s, I even couldn´t go to toilet and eat nothing and felt like a lost dog.
Said the racer by a phone call from Snelville (Georgia) where he has been training a few days and making some improvements in his racing chair with * Eaglesportschairs staff in which racing team Santi be part of it since 2005.
Atlanta´s race is a tough race due to the hilly orography of the southern town but is just great for our light racer who won last year with a new course record 1h01min09sec.
I think my shape is not as good as last year at the moment but I have that feeling who tells me I´m gonna do great tomorrow and next weekend in Charleston.
Weather predictions for tomorrow announce big chance of rain during race and that would make really dangerous the event due to it has too many turns rith at the botton of downhills, where racers can catch til 60Km/h.
